As we finish our week of prayer in this city, let’s pray for the cities of nations around the world that are experiencing extreme loss, pain, confusion or fear at this time.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you that you hear our prayers. We pray especially this morning for people in nations around the world who are suffering greatly, whether this is from bombs, guns, famine, war or any other anguish. We ask that they would know comfort and peace in the midst of deep pain. Would authorities and agencies in these places be able to provide care and provision to those in need. For those who have recently lost loved ones, would they be surrounded with love. For children who are without family would they be protected and brought to safety. Where we can help, would we do so. Would your peace and light be known in the most unexpected places. Amen.
For reflection: ‘Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.’ 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
